Try LA Beauty, Edgware: 020 8952 5382. They don't have a website but I can give them a personal recommendation.

Can a guy go to a salon and get a brazilian wax job?

Most places that do them for woman will not for men, you have to call around and ask....Can a guy go to a salon and get a brazilian wax job?
Haha of course. It's easier than shaving, he won't miss patches, and lasts longer.

But it'll hurt. But it hurts for girls too sooo....Can a guy go to a salon and get a brazilian wax job?
yeah im pretty sure ....

please answer mine ...http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqeE20hAjfChPUvRMTu5DyXsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080414183224AAI7mPj
That is to funny and something I never thought about before.
If they can, I hope they'll sell tickets so I can go watch and see how they like what we go thru!
If he is into masochism, yes.
Yeah I'm sure that he can but why would he want to??? Unless he's gay I guess...

I like it when my man keeps it trimmed.
ya my aunt is a beautician and she was tellin me that men come in and get wax jobs down there .............. weird or what
Yup, make sure you call before you go.
How would you get your guy to go?

  • Upper lip and chin hair, wax does not work on me..! is there any another way, i know i can go to salon to ?

thread but i don't live near one in my area so i don't want to travel every week to da salon so to get my upper lip thread especial when I got a busy schedule, when i try waxing it hurts cos it leave red cuts on my face and it kind of hurts afterwwards i do read the instruction properly and its a known brand called ';Veet'; is there any other method please let me know???Upper lip and chin hair, wax does not work on me..! is there any another way, i know i can go to salon to ?
    OMG!

    1. Don't do the bleach thing it increases the hair. And you can still see it ( my friend bleached hers and it was gross to look at in the sun).

    2. Don't do Nair. B/c it comes out spiky.

    3. The best way is to laser it. I have done my whole face and I am the happiest person in the world. It is expensive like 1,200 bucks but I'm not self-conscious about the stubble and can actually look up at people and make eye contact. It took 1 year (every other month) like 1/2 hour sessions. Didn't hurt to much (use numbing cream). I also had an extra 1 year guarantee which I took advantage of and continued to go every other month. Now I have like 3 light hairs on my chin, little upper lip hair. Compared to what it was before, wow, huge difference. Like 98% less hair and its light. Upper lip and chin hair, wax does not work on me..! is there any another way, i know i can go to salon to ?
nair it works good on me it really does ,and I've had that problem to (with upper lip) ,but yeah ,and also if you ever use anything like nair do it right because if you do it wrong ,and do it again it get you upper lip irritated ,and red :( ,but yeah the nair helps!
if you can afford laser treatments then do so It will only get worse as you get older ( laser does not work on grey hairs )

bleaching helps a lot on the lip but for the chin hairs - laser/tweeeze
bleach it (not the best IMO) or remove it with Nair or shaving (very carefully so as not to nick yourself) - it's an old wives tale that it will grow in thicker and darker
Really expensive, but there is some way to get your hair follicles removed where they are unneeded.
use facial bleach. makes the hair look like it's not there and you don't have to do it much.

17 yr old girl walks into a salon and ask to get her arms waxed would that be a turn off or think shes weird?

    no

it's not turn off17 yr old girl walks into a salon and ask to get her arms waxed would that be a turn off or think shes weird?
Don't wax your arm, most people - even girls have hair on their arms. And since summer is comming, if your arm hairs are dark, being out in the sun will lighten them. A person who works at a salon will not think you're weird, but other people might.17 yr old girl walks into a salon and ask to get her arms waxed would that be a turn off or think shes weird?
I think that is the stupidest thing to do. Alot of my friends shave there arms though. I don't really get the purpose. It's just a waste of time. The other day, I actually told my friend that if she kept shaving her arms, sooner or later she would start growing hair on her chest. I got alot of people to tell her the same thing, and she actually believed it. lol
i am 17 too and people started making fun of me when i was like14 or 15 because i had a lot of hair on my arms and it was dark so i started shaving my arms it made me happier and i feel better my arms look alot better too!!plus hair is nasty on women
I just recently started using Nair (about a week ago) to remove my hair from my arms. I had a pretty good amount of hair in my arms, and I was tired of it! So I just decided to use Nair. I wouldn't shave or wax them though. Waxing would hurt and I think shaving would make ur hairs come out like your leg hairs! lol So, I tried the Nair thing and it's worked so far. Either Nair or Veet work! Doesn't hurt and it lasts longer than shaving!
    I shave my arms....

It doesn't grow back any darker or thicker, it's fine.

If your arm hair is bugging you, then you should get it off.
Not weird, or a turn on.Many people wax many parts. An arm is tame...
waxing hair can make it grow back thicker so i wouldn't do it on your arms i would shave them instead every 2 days, and use a moisturiser everyday. shave with the growth of the hair not against it.
if you麓ve got a lot of hair on your arms, go ahead....I think body hair on a woman looks disgusting....I am one of the lucky ones..I am a naturally blond and have hardly any bodyhair and don麓t even need to shave or wax my legs and love my baby skin!!!
If you want to wax your arms, then go ahead and do it. It won't grow back thicker, in fact, waxing a few times weakens the hair follicle and can make the hair weaker and thinner.

Will someone think you're weird? Who cares? Don't tell them if you're worried about it. In my neighborhood there is a salon with a lot of Vietnamese staff. They'll say things that might embarass people, like ';you have a lot of hair, like a man'; or things like that. The thing is, they're not being rude. In their culture, people are direct. Sweetie, get your arms waxed. If you hate it, never do it again. If it turns out good, keep doing it!! Good luck! :)
    Nope, don't do it.

The hair will grow back on, but BLACK and in a very disgusting way...like a cactus.
    its nothing werid
getting your arms waxed isn't a big deal... just do it if you want to.
It will not grow back thicker or darker and this guy I work with shaves his arms its ok some poeple shave more then that so dont feel weird go get it waxed it might hurt.
DONT DO IT!!! im sorry, but dont.

its disgusting, stupid, pointless and, yes, a turnoff nd its weiird!

if u mean ur arms as in ur armpits, then fine, but if you mean your arms, then NO WAY!

Would it be weird if I went into a salon and asked to get my back waxed.. considering I'm a girl..?

A person working in hair removal should NOT be freaked out over that. Seriously. If it's weird to ask for your back to be waxed then it should be even more weird to ask for a bikini wax.

    Think about it.

Brazilian waxes too...a person is removing hair from your ********. Removing hair from a back should be NOTHING if they are comfortable with that.Would it be weird if I went into a salon and asked to get my back waxed.. considering I'm a girl..?
Not at all.Would it be weird if I went into a salon and asked to get my back waxed.. considering I'm a girl..?
Lol no. I know us girls are suppose to be perfect but we are not and some of us are just hairy...i would be one of those pale girls with dark hair haha. Its what they do and im sure tons of other girls do it too.....my aunt did
    no its fine
No. People have hair everywhere. If the esthetician is weirded out by that, then he/she is in the wrong line of business.
no it wouldnt be weird at all.im sure the person whos giving you a waxing has done a back before, so its not weird
if people go to salons and get bikini waxes what makes you think getting your back waxed would be akward? lol. Trust me - they have seen it all
    Nope not at all.
    it is fine.
who cares u wanna do it then do it
It wouldn't be weird at all if you got your back waxed. Women get all sorts of things waxed every day, back included.

WOMEN; Anyone had leg&pubes waxed before at a salon?

    I am going to get my legs and bikini waxed for the 1st time. Everything off! Basically. I always shaved before but I'm sick of it now as it only lasts the day you do it and it's a lot of effort. I'm a bit apprehensive about seeing someone to wax EVERYTHING because firstly I would be embarrassed as hell to show anyone hair on my body! Also secondly, I heard that you can get an infection from having a brazillian or holywood wax down there? I am definately getting this done, I just want to know who has had it and how painful it is (I have a huge tattoo done so I'm sure it's not as painful as that) and how embarrassing it is and omg yeah;

What exactly do they do? I really don't like the idea of taking off my pants spreading my legs for some woman to see everything. . ?WOMEN; Anyone had leg%26amp;pubes waxed before at a salon?
I have my legs waxed regularly. It barely hurts and leaves my legs smooth for about 7-10 days before little hairs start coming back (I only have them done every 21-28 days though). Sometimes after waxing I get a blotchy red patch here and there but it fades in an hour or two. If I shower after I have my legs done I can get a big rash - they'll probably tell you at the salon not to shower for the rest of the day. I usually shower in the morning and get my legs waxed in the afternoon or evening, and then don't shower until the next day. It is far more important not to shower after a bikini wax.

I have had my bikini waxed twice and it hurts like hell. It also leaves my skin blotchy and sensitive for a good 24-48 hours. I would not shower for 24 hours after if I was you or you risk a major rash and possibly an infection. When being waxed you can wear paper knickers that they give you and pull them to the side to expose the area they are waxing but if you want a full Hollywood you will probably need to take them off. If you want the lot off then you will have to get into all kinds of positions, including doggy-style! There is nothing to be embarrassed about and they have seen it all before. Personally I don't bother with bikini waxes as it is way easier and more effective to shave (I get it ALL and it is only a small area after all) but leg waxing is great.WOMEN; Anyone had leg%26amp;pubes waxed before at a salon?
I've never had anything waxed but I know people who have. Make sure you go to a place with a good reputation and that everything is clean and not re-used like what happens in some salons.
you will find the beautician will probably be chatting to you about everyday stuff, they have seen it all before so its nothing to them,,try to relax
dont worry! the girl doing the waxing sees everyones bits everyday...it hurts ,but its well worth it as the areas stay smooth for ages.where im from waxing and threading are like a religion..lol. i havent heard of any infections but if the wax feels too hot tell the woman because you cant tell at first but it can leave a painful burn. just relax and think of the hair free days ahead!! they tell you put your legs in a few different positions to get to all the areas involved, then spread warm wax on with a spatula.followed by a lint cloth which they then tear off along with the hairs. its very fast and once its over the pain kinda disappears. while you are there get you brows threaded if you havent already, its amazing and will change your whole look in an instant.

Do nail salons usually offer bikini waxes?

I've only ever had a bikini wax done in a spa, where they can be a bit pricey. I was wondering if anyone knows if nail salons where they do eyebrow waxing also do bikini waxing?

I'm not asking about any nail salons in particular - just wondering in general.Do nail salons usually offer bikini waxes?
Some nail salons do...you just have to ask. I didn't know my nail salon offered waxing until I saw them do someone's eyebrows. So, then I decided to ask if they did any other wax jobs. Turns out they do pretty much all of it. I have yet to get it done, but the prices I was given were fairly reasonable.Do nail salons usually offer bikini waxes?
i would call ahead and ask. i think you need a private room for that and most small salons do not have that.
yeah, you can usually get waxing done in those places. some don't, but most do.

Where can I buy this wax that is used in my salon to wax eyebrows & bikini line?

You put on the wax hot and let it cool, and then you don't put a strip on it. You rip off the hardened wax and it takes away all of the hair. I love it used in my salon but can't afford the salon price of getting waxed. Do you know where I can buy this wax in a store? I'm willing to pay good money for it so long as the whole jar will cost less than me making multiple visits to the salon. Do waxes at nail salons require a guardian with you?

I normally get my eyebrows waxed at a hairsalon and they normally make my mom come in with me.

Me and my brother have the house to ourself for 2 weeks and i really need them waxed..

where can I get them waxed without my mom?Do waxes at nail salons require a guardian with you?
First of all, it's not illegal like the dumb girl above me said.

Second of all, I go with my sister all the time, and they don't care.

But you should pobably call ahead of time just to make sure.

Tell them your situation too, about how it's impossible for your parents to be there.Do waxes at nail salons require a guardian with you?
If you are under 16 then yes, you need a guardian.

    Unless they say otherwise.

You could even get a friend to pose as a ';guardian';.
It's illegal for them to do waxing in nail salons. Do you think they really care if you have a parent when they're already doing something illegal?

Either proactive repair lotion or a little hydrocortizone cream. I went to a salon and got my eyebrows waxed ?
it could be regrowth of some sort or if it was your first time then that is probably skin irritation. how to get rid of it...i dont know a fast way you might just have to wait.
They will most likely go away on their own in another day or two. The skin is just temporarily irritated. You can try to use some lotion in the mean time.
It might just be a little irritated if it's your first time getting them waxed

(but redness or swelling should go away soon)
they will go away. dont mess with them. i get my eyebrows waxed all the time. they go away. but you can use witch hazel or alcohol on them!
use some aloe vera or vitamin e cream and they will clear up in no time!

Girl!?!? Have you ever *had* a Brazilian wax? It is not only very painful...but a VERY personal experience. Usually, a Brazilian costs upwards of $100. You want whomever is performing this on you to be highly qualified getting hot wax all over you down there, trust me. Pay the extra money...it's worth it. If you want your pubic hair waxed, do u go to like a salon or something?

isn't it a little embarrasing for them looking down there, has anyone ever went??? im a girl by the way-miley smithIf you want your pubic hair waxed, do u go to like a salon or something?
You will have to do it yourself with a wax kit, no salon is going to do that for you, it isn't under out licensing and it isn't covered by our malpractice insurance. If you want your pubic hair waxed, do u go to like a salon or something?
In California there are many places you can go to to get your pubic hair waxed. It's not embarrassing at all...a lot of people do it--but it does hurt!

Are there salons that do the bikini area shaving instead of the waxing for women?

Not many, but there are a few. I had it done a few times a couple of years ago, just to try something different.

It isn't worth it, though. Although you get a professional, very close shave, shaving just doesn't last long enough. I found that I had to go into the salon every two or three days on my way to work to keep myself smooth. Its also a bit nerve-wracking, having someone else working with a bare blade down there!

Frankly, if you're going to a salon to get rid of the hair down there, it's better just to get it waxed? If you can't face waxing, shave it yourself. Are there salons that do the bikini area shaving instead of the waxing for women?
ew gross. i hope not. anyways, why would you pay for that when you can do it yourself? Are there salons that do the bikini area shaving instead of the waxing for women?

nothing sexier then a guy taming care of himself..

i like a bit of hair on the chest but not too much..

as for legs, smooth is sexy :P
Freak out i guess? Guys look wayyyyy better with hair on them. Looks more macho and manly. Guys dont look so good when they look like girls!
That's really cheap ....... I would better call him a HIJRAAA...
not a biggie, metrosexuals are on style now.
I'll be disgusted by the sight of it
    i wouldnt care
I would think that he was a weird-o. But I might be wrong...
    I'D LAUGH! LOL!
I'd probably assume one or two things. Either he's Gay or a swimmer.Swimmers get this done, because it helps them too swim faster.
I think its ok to wax their chest every once in a while if they're too hairy, but legs, oh man, noooo, I really don't like that! I don't think i want my boyfriend to have less hair on his body than me :)))
i really don't care, but he's either a swimmer or gay, or just a metrosexual wimp that I wouldn't be interested in in the first place
    what a wiedo!!!
I'm not a salon person to begin with. My last hair cut was at Great Clips because they had a $5 special. I don't think I see anything wrong with it though. After all, it's society that dictates whether or not shaved legs and chest, etc. is feminine and manly. In ancient Egypt, it was proper for a man to be completely shaven from the eyebrows down. I'm a woman, and might shave my legs once a week. Last Saturday, my armpits saw a razor in at least a year, and that was just the electric clippers that I use on my husband's hair. For my baby shower, I wore a shirt with very short sleeves and there are photos of me holding up gifts and my hairy pits sticking out. So what. If somebody didn't like it, that's their problem. I have a husband who obviously finds me sexy internally and externally, and that's what matters.

    To each their own.
    I'd say, ';that boy should get a life.';
LEGS umm i would be very creaped but chest i would just think it makes you look hotter lol
    Sado masochism is sad
Well i would think gay or really metro.
um, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, i'd go to another salon, i wouldn't stand the sight!
    Big turn off
    gross
I think i would walk up to him and interview him -- ask him his experience and what inspired him to get waxed -- hehehehe
It is his business, his choice and he may have to do it for many reasons.

Most body builders who compete, must do this so that when they warm up and oil there body, they can get all the cuts and contours to show up in detail. They are required to hold pose for few minutes and judges judge them for these details, plus touch certain parts to feel the hardness, some use meters call ';Dura Meter';.

Some need to do it because they have skin problem.

Some do it because their partners prefer smooth body, or they like it that way.

And yet others need to do it to stay cool, in the summer months.
I would ask him to get dressed like a female in full with all ornaments preferably in Saree to look like a traditional south Indian women and take few photographs
    I'd think,'; He's brave! Most guys are too wimpy to wax anything!';
It would be a major turn off for me. Guys are suppose to have hair. Makes them look sexy
metrosexuality isn't an ';oh-my-god'; thing anymo...

Yeah i might giggle a little...but there's nothing bout it coming as a shock..

take a picture close up of your whole face, then use white out to draw. Make lots of copies and use that to follow up. You make mistakes are first but after a time, you can do it without the copy. I've learned to create many styles on myself.

It depends on how your eye shape looks. You want your eyebrows to define your eyes. For example, I have cat eyes/almond shaped eyes. So, I think that the best look for me would be where my eyebrows lead up, and then slowly come down. Check this URL out. It's bound to help you out. http://www.lamasbeauty.com/beauty/novemb鈥?/a>

    Heaven on Earth
well you should get them waxed every six months and the rested of the time tweeze them to keep the shape of the wax if you dont start out with a was you may end up uneven or worse over plucked
I do my own all the time. Put an ebrow pencil alongside ur nose..... this is where you pluck so you don't have a una-brow. Then tilt the pencil so it is against ur nose but across ur iris (in ur eye) that is where u pluck to make a natural looking arch. Don't go overboard, and if you get scared, visit ur beautician for tips.

Look for beauty salons in the phone book and call them to see if they offer waxing. Most do. This would be the easiest way.

    Good Luck.

How much does WHOLE BODY PERMANENT wax cost...? (in average shop/salon)?

Well, wax isnt permanent. You have to do it about every 4-6 weeks. My spa charges 30 for eyebrows, 50 for half legs, 80 for full, 40 for arms, 40 for bikini, 40 for back, 40 for stomach, and another 30 for facial fair. Hope that gives you some idea..... How much does WHOLE BODY PERMANENT wax cost...? (in average shop/salon)?
I would say well over $100. Its generally $40 for legs, $80 for a brizillian, $15 for lip, chin and eyebrows. But I'm sure they have some sort of special for everything.

  • What kind of wax do salons use for hair removal? (Its usually yellow)?

Times are hard and I need to start waxing at home. Creme removers dont last as long as waxing. All types of waxes are welcome. brand specific as well AND where can I buy? I usually shop at sallys beauty supply store. What kind of wax do salons use for hair removal? (Its usually yellow)?
Hi I鈥檓 a beauty therapist and most salons use 2 types of waxes:

1 Hot wax- this is used on areas such as any facial areas, under arms and bikini area (you don鈥檛 use any strips of fabric with this wax)

2 strip wax- this is used every where else (if you are going to by salon quality products you will need a wax pot or heating device and wax strips. I recommend getting roll on wax as this doesn鈥檛 drip and ends up being cheaper)

The best brand I find is Mancine (it鈥檚 an Australian brand that is well priced and is of high quality)

If you are going to do your own waxing with salon quality products you will need

    Wax pot or heating device

    Wax Strips

Paddle Pop Sticks different sizes for different areas (you should always use paddle pop sticks and never double dip as this way you don鈥檛 contaminate the wax)

    Wax

Citrus Solvent (this is to remove the wax off the pots, floor and cloths but don鈥檛 apply to skin as it will burn)

Pre Wax Solution (this removes dirt, makeup, and oil from the skin in preparation for waxing)

Talc Power (apply after the pre wax solution to create a barrier so that the wax doesn鈥檛 rip your skin off)

Moisturiser (either a aloe Vera based moisturiser of tea tree oil as aloe Vera is soothing and tea tree is anti septic)

All of this will cost around $200 but in the long run you will save money and if you get good at it you can wax your friends and get them to pay you.

Hope this helps ;-)What kind of wax do salons use for hair removal? (Its usually yellow)?
I use Poetic Waxing from Bliss. It's a really good waxing it I got last winter, and it works wonders. It's organic, has aromatherapy scents, and very gentle for ANY part of your body. It also comes with before/after waxing lotions/oils to make the whole process even better.

It's a BIT pricey though ($45), and I KNOW times are tough, but really consider investing on it, it's a really good investment I made, and I can forget about going to salons and other pro places.

Good luck, this KIT is mainly found @ Sephora, where I purchased mine:

    http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>
I gotta say that Sephora Bliss kit that someone mentioned seems reasonable and for $45 is almost a bargin.

you could try the strips that are already made up, you just heat them between your hands pull them apart and use, they are quick and easy with no mess with the right amount of wax...

Tip: try looking for a beauty school thats open to clients, you will pay half the price of a normal salon. its worth a look
any wax will do, salons just glamorize them to seem expensive. For all you know they are using shoe glue to wax you. Any over the counter wax will do the job, the important thing is the fabric to pull them out, that you can buy at your local fabric store. GOOD LUCK...
candle wax. i've tried it and it's not bad, it works great. instead of lighting up candles, melt whole candles ( or get candle was and boil it) then pour it on yourself, and pull it off with any type of wax pulling paper.
If you like to save more, you can search for sugaring methods, there are recipes to make that. it's easy and effective

You should call to ask if they still do brow dyeing. It is actually illegal in MA, most salons still do it because it is a silly rule.

There is also a great AVEDA salon across from the Prue, i can't remember the name but i'm sure you'll find it.

thanks!!!!I got my eyebrows waxed at this nail salon, but they didn't ask me how to shape my eyebrow? I want to shape it
Usually with mine they wax first, and then use tweasers to shape them. The next time you go in just ask them about a certain shape, or maybe even bring in a picture for visual effect so that they know what you want.

Chances are they'll work with you, since you're the one giving up the bucks to have it done =) Hope I helped hun!I got my eyebrows waxed at this nail salon, but they didn't ask me how to shape my eyebrow? I want to shape it
yeah, I like how sometimes they kinda have a bump in them, or a raise, but I didn't get mine like that, just ask them, I just don't ask mine because I can barely understand them while I set there getting nails done, and it's too hard to communicate with them because of the oriental accent, but they are very sweet, and I'm sure any nail salon would let you get yours shaped :) I can bump mine up a little with a eye brow brush

Instead of getting your eyebrows waxed, can you just get them plucked at a salon?

I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?

I know its not really a big deal but I had a few questions about it. I checked a few salons websites and they all say just eyebrow waxing...this is the same thing as eyebrow shaping right? Ware they pluck/wax the eyebrows so they look good (lol). Also about how long does it take? Could anybody give me a walk though of the whole procedure? Like from the sit down point to the point ware you go pay for it.I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?
From my experience, the people in the salon ask you to sit in a chair with something behind you to rest your head upon or they have a reclining chair or table. They ask you what your preference is - to ';clean up'; or ';shape'; (ie., to remove stray hairs or the dreaded ';unibrow';) or to thin your eyebrows.

Then the stylist dips a wooden stick (thinner than a Popsicle stick) into a vat of hot wax, removes it, blows on it to make sure it's not *too* hot, and puts it on the hair to be removed.

Next the stylist will put wax paper over the wax... You will feel a lot of pressing and rubbing, so that the paper sticks to *all* the wax and the wax sticks to the hair. The stylist then pulls the paper, wax and hair in one fell swoop. It may hurt for just a second, but it's not bad. This process is repeated until all of the unwanted hair is removed. After all the hair is ';grossly'; removed (ie., no real ';detail work';), the stylist will pluck (';finely'; remove) any hairs that are too short for the wax to get. That's the part that gets me the most. The waxing is fine.

Always make sure that you complain if the wax is too hot. Surface burns can occur if it's too hot. The stylist will show you a mirror and you can ensure that you like the work before you sit up and pay.

Since it's the eyebrows and not a mustache (like mine), it's not that bad. You'll be glad when you're done, because you will look more beautiful than you already are.

Don't forget to tip!I have never had my eyebrows waxed at a salon before...HELP i have some questions?
Well sure, they shape it as they wax. . . . You can generally either walk in or make an appointment at most places, because the whole thing takes like 10 minutes. If it's your first time it might take a little longer to shape. They don't really pluck too much once they have a nice shape formed and you are just touching up . . . It's easy!
Well, I get mine done at Walmart and it's quite simple. You sit, they put the hot wax on and the tape stuff and rip the hair off (she'll typically ask you if you just want it neatened up or if you want it really thin). It only stings for like a quick second and you don't even feel her pluck the stragglers. Than she'll put a moisturizer on the tender spots and the whole thing takes roughly two and a half minutes :) Hope that helps
haha. yeah eyebrow waxing is where they shape your eyebrows. %26amp; it only takes about 10 minutes. you walk in. you lay down then put wax on your eyebrows then put little pieces of cloth %26amp; rip it off. %26amp; ur done
Okay so you walk in, wait your turn, sit in the chair or lay on the table. Then they ask you how you want them, you say NATURAL, NOT TOO THIN! They'll say what they think. They clean the area, slap the wax on there, put the strip of paper on, rip the hair out and repeat. Usually they do above and below the eyebrow. Then they will pluck the stray hairs and do more precise shaping with the tweezers (and yes, waxin includes shaping and all that nonsense). Then they'll put some cream and aloe on there to soothe the area and help the skin heal. It'll take, from sit down to paying, about 10-15 minutes. When you pay, you're suppose to tip them a dollar or two by the way.
hi there i am an esthetican so i believe i can help lol eyebrow waxing is bascially cleaning up regrowth shaping is actually working in a shape in your brows, so yes bascially they are the same but different if that makes anysense! it takes two to three weeks to grow back for the hair to be long enough again to wax. and this is the procedure i do with my clients

i take them upstairs and they lay down on the bed, i put a pre wax solution on their brows to clean up make up and sweet, i put powder on (just baby powder) to protect the skin and keep moisture off so the wax can come up! i wax the middle then i shape! than i trim them if they need to be trimmed put after wax on to stop the sticking of the wax and to sooth the area. take them down and they pay!!! and it's awesome to put watch hazel on your skin after to bring the skin back to it ph level .. i hope i was of some hope good luck!
you sit down they put wax on your brow scrape off where thy don't want to remove, then they apply the material, give it a second and rip it off pluck a few, use scissors to shorten a few . done you pay your $ 7.00 say good bye and leave
First you'll walk in, let them know you're there for your appt. and just wait. Next they'll take you over to a chair and have you sit down. (Well this is how it's done at my salon.) Then they'll probably use some witch hazel or something on a cotton ball to clean the area. They'll apply the hot wax to the hair they want to remove and then use a cloth to rip it off. They'll probably use tweezers to touch it up and they might even use a little comb and comb the hairs upward and then trim them. Lots of places also pencil in your eyebrows after and make sure they look perfect. It takes probably less than 10 minutes.

I'm getting waxed at a salon, is it appropriate to tip? If so what's acceptable?

I'm a guy, until now I've always just shaved, but I figured I'd try waxing, the cost is $38.00 should I tip and how much?I'm getting waxed at a salon, is it appropriate to tip? If so what's acceptable?
I do this type of waxing. Most of my clients tip $10 or more. I am surprised that they only charge $38. My starting fee for Brazilians is $60.

It most likely will burn. It is not a typical type of pain and if the Esthetician does it correctly, s/he will try to ease the burning sensation by touching your skin.

I make these types of waxing as fun as I can for the client.

    Hope this helps!

Let us know how you make out afterward.I'm getting waxed at a salon, is it appropriate to tip? If so what's acceptable?
It is always ok to tip for a service, and in some cases service providers make the bulk of their income from tipping. A $5 tip would be adequate, but if you feel the service was exceptional, add to that. A tip is given as a thank you for a service. If the experience is terrible (which it might be painful by the way) due to inept service no tip is necessary. It really is up to you and how you felt the service was performed.
15% is always a good rule of thumb (a little less than $2 for every 10 you spend) so $5-7 is cool.

So I had my face waxed at the salon, but the next day I had the biggest breakout of my life.?

usually I breakout very little and only on my forehead but now theres alot more, If u saw me u would say im overexaggerating and , I probably am, but Im guessing its because when i waxed it left the hair pores open so dirt was clogged in them....what do u think? any recommended acne crap I can waste my money on?So I had my face waxed at the salon, but the next day I had the biggest breakout of my life.?
are you sure it is not a reaction to the bees wax and instead of acne. I would ask a dermatoligistSo I had my face waxed at the salon, but the next day I had the biggest breakout of my life.?
thats probably the reason, try washing your face with hot water and soap (face nto body!) and then after rinsing with hot water, rinse with cold water
    clearasil foaming face wash
    Hope this helps!

';~Why do I break out after I wax?

    There are a couple of reasons why you may possibly have a breakout after waxing. After the hair is pulled out, the sebaceous gland (oil gland) becomes over stimulated and causes a pimple like reaction. Another reason is that if there is already bacteria present in the lower layers of the skin, the trauma to the skin can cause it to surface. By putting alcohol on a waxed area it should help to minimize breakouts.';
The heat and wax did the number on your skin, probably by combining with the heat, wax, bacteria already present and dirt already present to cause the major breakout. Your skin is now officially very irritated, as if you hadn't noticed. Get some witch hazel, it's over by the alcohol usually and is an excellent astringent, costs less than the acne stuff too. Put in the fridge to chill, and give yourself a steam facial. That will open the pores and encourage things to drain and clean themselves. Afterwards use a clean cotton ball to apply the witch hazel, which will close the pores cause it's cold and will soothe the irritated skin. You may see whiteheads form where the hairs were, since the hairs were yanked from the follicle the cell walls were damaged. Bacteria normally living on the skin could then get into the follicles and under the skin, and voila- major breakout. In future, it might be best not to wax the entire face, it's probably better to stick to the eyebrows or possibly upper lip. You don't want to use the acne gels containing salicylic acid because your problem doesn't come from extra oil and doesn't need to be dried out. It needs to be treated gently to heal and the breakouts will go away on their own. The only thing it needs is TLC. You can use a moisturizer for normal to oily skin if you life, but otherwise don't smear on the potions and lotions. So save your money, soothe the skin, and wait it out while it heals. And in future, avoid full face wax jobs, they are way too drastic and rough on the facial skin.
Yes, I think you've got the right idea...the waxing has left your pores just wide open for dirt and crap. Thus causing the acne. Simply wash your face with non-fragrant soap at least twice a day. Other remedies include rubbing alcohol before bed...be warned, it dries out your skin and makes it red! Witch Hazel is also good and doesn't dry your skin out. Tea Tree Oil is the best that I have found...there's only three problems with it. First, it smells absolutely horrible!!! So I only use it either in the morning before I get ready or right before bed. Second, it tingles a bit...but that means it's working in the pores. Third, it is a form of an oil (don't worry, doesn't clog pores!!!) so it does leave your skin with a slight oily feeling for a while before it fully soaks in. You can get this at Wal-Mart or other places for about $5 in the vitamin aisle.

I've also heard that straight vodka helps when applied directly to the face...but I never wanted to waste vodka, so I never tried it. lol

    Sugaring or salon wax epilation?

What do you think: salon wax or make sugar wax at home? I saw in the internet that sugaring is better than the salon wax, because it doesn't have chemicals. What do you think? Do you have any recipes?

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Tin@*!!!Sugaring or salon wax epilation?
I think that sugar waxing is much better, because it doesn't hurt as much, and is better for sensitive skin. Take it from me, my skin is crazy-sensitive, so I started waxing, because my skin couldn't even take a razor. Waxing HURT, so when a friend introduced me to sugar waxing, she saved me! Here's the recipe I use.

    http://www.howtosugarwax.com/

Hope that helped! Good luck! ; )Sugaring or salon wax epilation?
Sugaring and salon waxing work the same way! They both rip the hairs out from the roots.

I usually go for salon waxing, but a friend likes sugaring. I think it's down to whatever you prefer.

The chemicals line is probably part of the marketing for sugaring - I'd ignore it!
    they are the same

I want to get my eyebrows waxed, should I go to a salon or get an at home kit?

I would say go to a salon the first time and discuss with the person the best way to do it yourself the next time. They can give you advice on the shape of your brows and also how to do it without pulling the whole brow off or making yourself bleed or something.I want to get my eyebrows waxed, should I go to a salon or get an at home kit?
Get it done professionally for the first time (maybe 2 or 3), then after that, if you feel comfortable enough to do your own, you can follow their line. If and when you decide to do it yourself, make sure to get the super-skinny shaping sticks. It makes the job so much easier. I do my own now and it takes literally 2 minutes. (By the way - getting it done professionally is not that expensive. You MIGHT spend 20 bucks including tip, so its not terribly expensive.) Good luck!!! I'm sure you'll be pleased, beautifully shaped eyebrows can change the whole look of your face!I want to get my eyebrows waxed, should I go to a salon or get an at home kit?
salon because you need a professional to do it.
Go to a salon first, then use home kits for follow ups.
if you arent sure how to do it you should go to a salon...it costs like 5 bucks
Get it done at a Salon the first couple of times - they do it much faster and you can get them shaped exactly the way you want them to look.

Then after a couple of times then you might wanna try it yourself at home.

    Good Luck
Go online for an eyebrow defining kit first. It will help you draw the correct lines you will wan to follow. Then try tweezing first. you may not need to wax.
dont get an at home kit, but if u go to the salon it will be better. I did this, but what i noticed was that teh hair was growing back, and to wax teh hair has to be a certain length. So just let teh girls do the shape 4 u, then when u come home, teh follwing days, just tweeze teh hairs out, this is cheaper than going to the salon everytime. Make sure u keep the shape the girls done, and ull be fine!!

    Hope i helped x
go and get it dun thwy are pros its there job you should be able to keep it up after there dun for you
go to a salom. it is very hard to get them the same shape. caroline o.
I would go to a salon for the first time and see if it's something you can do at home, then buy a kit.

Better than showing up at work the next day, having to explain why you only have half an eyebrow over one eye.
    SALON SALON SALON.

then, when making the apt. ask for the person that has been doing it the longest. tell them to be as conservative as possible while giving a bit of an arch or shape to them. brows are the foundation for any good face!
noooooo!! always start with a proffessional then you can learn to do it yourself because you can actually see the hairs you need to remove
Salon for at least the first one so you get a nice shape.

After that you can easily maintain at home by waxing or even plucking the stray hairs as they come through....great if you don't feel comfortable with your own waxing abilities.

its a service, so 20 percent is fine

Is it true that one cud get Herpes from a Bikini wax @ a Salon and or a swimming Pool inspite of the Chlorine?

    No. It's just another myth.

You can NOT get genital herpes from a salon, a pool, jacuzzi, hot tub, bath tub, toilet seat, sink, chair, bedding and sheets, etc.

Genital herpes is almost ALWAYS spread by some sort of sexual contact. A person can contract herpes through childbirth but this is REALLY rare.

You can however contract cold sores (a form of herpes) from sharing a drink with someone. Cold sores are usually spread by kissing someone who has them, but they can also be spread by sharing a drink with someone who has them, sharing lip stick, chap stick, cigarettes, etc. Basically anything a person with cold sores has their lips on can spread to another person if they put their lips on it.

I have had genital herpes for 6 years. I lived with my parents and two younger brothers for most of those 6 years. NONE of them ever got genital herpes from me by using the toilet after me or swimming with me. I've also had several family members and boyfriends (now ex's) use the bathroom or go swimming with me and NONE of them ever contracted herpes from me.Is it true that one cud get Herpes from a Bikini wax @ a Salon and or a swimming Pool inspite of the Chlorine?
No way. Unless someone is waxing your bikini line with their festering penis or scrotum.

They are testing a Herpes vaccine on college student volunteers, I noticed on a flyer the other day. Probably a matter of time before that nasty bug is wiped out.Is it true that one cud get Herpes from a Bikini wax @ a Salon and or a swimming Pool inspite of the Chlorine?
Well depends on what type of herpes you are referring to. There are 8 types. Although i cant cite a scientific document for evidence, I can assure you that no type of HHV is easily transmissible in chlorinated water if at all.
    Just another myth.
If the swimming pool is properly chlorinated within the ranges set by the NSPI (National Swimming Pool Foundation) it is virtually impossible to contract anything from a swimming pool. The chlorine level should be between 2ppm - 4ppm. If the pool is a public facility, these pools are checked anywhere from 3 times a day to every hour depending on what state you live in. If it is a private pool, then it is up to the pool owner to maintain the correct levels.

Even if the chlorine levels were were not in the proper ranges, I would suspect that the only way you could possibly contract Herpes in a swimming pool was if you were having sex with an infected person while in the pool.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO the virus cant live for too long outside the body even if you sit on a toilet seat. you just can't it dies too quick, is skin to skin contact with the gushing open sore.
Ummm, that would be a big no. Herpes comes from sexual contact only or oral sex.

Around $10-20 mine cost $12 at the mall.
usually about eight dollars, some places it's ten.

  • Can you get STDs from getting your bikini waxed at a salon?

Yes you can. This was touched on on the Tyra show. The way you get them is from the stick applicator they use to apply the wax to your skin. It's much easier for them to just put the stick back in the hot wax, rather than to throw it out and waste some of the wax. Not only this, but they would need a new container of wax for every person they do. Even if they throw the stick away...they're still dipping it back in the wax, and this is used on everyone. You should ask first if they're clean with this matter...All you need to ask is if the wax and stick are both disposed of after each use.Can you get STDs from getting your bikini waxed at a salon?
It is possible but if i were you i wouldent go to some cheap salon just for your safty but i highly dought u will get it from binki waxing.Wishing u good luck! Can you get STDs from getting your bikini waxed at a salon?
well, unless youer waxer deicdes to bang out, no. hence the name, sexually transmitted disease... and im guessing you mean 'can you get stds from getting A bikini WAX ';...not 'getting YOUR bikini waxed';...
Considering that your skin gets ripped when getting waxed there is the risk of STD cooties getting into your system. Bodily fluids are best kept to ones self. That's why whoever is waxing you better be licensed, using new supplies and wearing gloves to protect both you and themselves. There's a very small risk but yes, it is possible. Anything involving blood brings that risk of transferring any pathogens that you might have in your body into contact with others and vice versa.
YES!, If the same stick spreading it on your skin, then back in the wax that contaminates the wax, and 90% of the time they don't change wax between customers.
    No.
Actually yes, I saw the Tyra Banks show and there was a doctor on talking about STD's and she said that this was something women have to be careful of. HTH.
STD's are transmitted by having intercourse, so unless you're having intercourse while getting waxed there should be no reason to have one and i hope that the salons are sanitary.
I'm not a doctor, so I'm not sure how feasible that is. But most beauty salons have to use disposable equipment like wooden sticks that spread on the wax. If your salon doesn't use a new stick everytime they put it in the wax pot, who knows how many other people are floating around in that pot? Make sure the salon is clean and sanitary. They should clean and sanitize the table after each client. Also, many waxing professional use rubber gloves. The cleaner the better!

    Good luck.
    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
i highly doubt it. just make sure the salon you go to is not cheap. use clean materials and you're good to go.. good luck!

Waxing my Bikini Line. Is it going to hurt loads ? Feeling v nervous about doing it ! Salon to expensive?

About to,Wax my Bikini Line. Can't afford a Salon.

Is it going to hurt ? Will it be to hard for me to wax ?Waxing my Bikini Line. Is it going to hurt loads ? Feeling v nervous about doing it ! Salon to expensive?
I would suggest going to a salon to have this done if you can afford it. I attempted this twice myself before at home, and it is just not the same qulaity materials they use in a salon. Both times I tried it myself, I could not finish it. The women at the salon are trained in this and get it done in a timely and efficient manner.

I am not going to lie and say it is painless, but not excruciating as some would lead you to believe. It is a stinging sensation when they remove the hair, but it subsides. When they are finished they will put a cooling gel or lotion on the area to help with any lingering discomfort.

Again, I cannot stress enough going to a place to have this done...in my personal opinion it is worth the money. The at home can be very uncomfortable like I stated, the wax and strips are not high quality and knowing you are getting ready to pull that strip off becomes a psychological war in your mind with yourself.Waxing my Bikini Line. Is it going to hurt loads ? Feeling v nervous about doing it ! Salon to expensive?

yes it hurts but only for a minute

i would not go to a spa either

it is not real hard to do
Waxing is temporary hair removal method.

Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt
Believe or not, it's more of a burn then pain.

I actually don't mind waxing my face, legs, or arms.

    My personal advice for you:

    1. Before waxing, power your face with baby powder. This way, the wax will stick to the hairs and not the skin :).

    2. Make sure you don't have acne where you're waxing- unless if you want that area to start to bleed and scab.

    3. Personally, I use cold waxes. This removes the possibility of getting burnt by hot wax. Plus, the strips are super cheap and are available in almost all pharmacies!

    4. How your skin taut. That way, your skin won't get damaged or pulled off..

    I use Veet Cold Strips.

    Good luck! :)
Nah, shouldn't do, if you want though I'll do it for you for free ;) :P
You get the wax strips so it is easier. Yes it hurts alittle. but after a shower your fine and will wax again.
Sorry to say but HELL YES IT WILL HURT! Might want to bring a friend so you can hold their hand...You are better off going to the salon to get it done because they will do it quickly, efficiently and the right way.
Personally- i get LASERED which hurts 10x more- sure it hurts but do you seriously want everyone to see your hair down there? My opinion is you should totaly do it and the hair won't grow back for a while. As for DIY or Salon- DIY might be very hard and messy but way less expensive. Doing it at a salon is expensive but they will do a better job and it will be quick.
someone gave me a homemade recipe used in remote foreign countrys to remove hair. I made it, then applied liberally to my privates. I put too much on and it ran everywhere! within a few seconds, it hardened. NO WAY i could yank that hunk out. It was like having a candy apple stuck between my legs for hours, yes, hours, cause i had to sit in a bath tub for hours waiting for it to dissolve. just make sure you get a reliable wax and for gosh sake, start small!
think about it ,omg it totally hurts i dont even know why u wanna do it, just try and pull one hair out then imagine the pain? good luck and Merry Chrustmas:)
It will hurt a little just remember when you rip the wax off you hold your skin tight like when you get your eyebrows waxed it hurts less when you hold the skin down tight.

So I want to go get ...things waxed, do I have to wait to get a tan after? Idk if I want to do the tanning bed or spray...Do I have to wait to get a tan at the tanning salon if I get waxed first?
You CAN tan after getting waxed, but it is not recommended. Your skin will be irritated and inflamed, so tanning beds would just irritate it more. A spray tan would probably work, but don't do it if your skin is still in a lot of pain.

When going for a bikini wax how long do u let the hair grow before u wax (at a salon)?

bit personal sorry but please help also do u get brazilian or not...When going for a bikini wax how long do u let the hair grow before u wax (at a salon)?
Mine takes about a month to grow out long enough again to wax. I get a brazilian (the whole thing) done. When going for a bikini wax how long do u let the hair grow before u wax (at a salon)?
the hair needs to be 1/4'; long to get waxed. otherwise, the wax won't have enough hair to grab a hold of.
You need about 1/4 of an inch growth for the wax to effectively attach to the hair.

No, I'm too old for brazilian waxes.

Does anyone know a good nail salon in Atlanta GA that does brazilian wax as well?

I'm looking for a asian nail salon that also specializes in brazilian waxes as well and that are located in Atlanta GA...does anyone know of a good one that does not charge so much?? Thanks!Does anyone know a good nail salon in Atlanta GA that does brazilian wax as well?
Pick a nice day spa, and stay away from those Asian nail huts!!

I have been working in the spa industry for about 8 years now, and you don't know how many customers are afraid of waxing and nail services because of their experiences with those low-standard nail places. Those women are NOT trained skin care professionals and they cut corners when it comes to safety and sanitation, which is why the waxing services are so cheap. You get what you pay for. If you want someone who is properly trained, then you have to pay for it.

Considering learning to do your own Brazilian if money is an issue. It sounds weird, but I know some girls that do it (not the labia part, but they do the little landing strip on their own). I do all my own waxing below the belly button and I've gotten quite good at it. The only think I have to pay for is the jar of wax that I use. The strips are washable.Does anyone know a good nail salon in Atlanta GA that does brazilian wax as well?
Natural Body Spa and Spa Sydell. Those are the best ones. I've used them before while I was on vacation there and it was amazing. I don't think it's an asian salon, but it is a great quality. I'd reccomend it.

  • I get ingrown hairs every time I shave my legs. :( Will getting them waxed at a salon prevent this?

I've never waxed before but will it reduce my chances of getting ingrown hairs compared to just shaving?? Also... I have kinda thick hairs on my legs so even immediately after I shave.. I can still feel stubble and even see black hairs in the pores.. I have sensitive skin though... is waxing right for me??I get ingrown hairs every time I shave my legs. :( Will getting them waxed at a salon prevent this?
    no no no.

sure waxing lasts longer, but it hurts a lot, costs a lot and will hurt your skin if it is really sensitive. honest. the best thing is to just shave.

but if you must. just wax on a small portion of your leg (like your calf) and then see how it turns out. if you like the results go back and get the rest done.

waxing wont get out ingrown hairs...maybe it will? ive never heard of it. but if you heard it from the salon people i wouldnt trust it.

good luckI get ingrown hairs every time I shave my legs. :( Will getting them waxed at a salon prevent this?
no because waxing will pull the hair right out of the root you get ingrown hairs because your skin may be dry and at the same time the layer of skin is too thick or hard for the hair to push through keep your legs moisturized

When you go to a salon to wax your eyebrows...?

Do they automatically choose the shape of how they are going to wax it or do you have to pick? When you go to a salon to wax your eyebrows...?
They are your eyebrows and you have the choice of how you want to shape them, they will usually say what they are planning on doing and if you want, you make suggestionsWhen you go to a salon to wax your eyebrows...?
they should ask how you want them, but when i go they just ';clean them up'; when i don't specify. clean up means my natural look but clean lines.
When I first had my eyebrows waxed they didn't say anything to me at all. Over the past few months, even when I go to different places they will just go with the ';natural shape'; of your brow. Unless you want something drastic you can definitely let them know and they will accommodate accordingly.
they make a suggestion and you say if you like it or not

Would it be better to wax my eyebrows myself at home or get it done at a salon?

I usually pluck my eyebrows but I hate doing it.. so which is better?? I don't want to dish out a ton of money to get it done at a salon, but I might mess it up if I did it myself.. help please!Would it be better to wax my eyebrows myself at home or get it done at a salon?
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GO GET THEM DONE PROF!!! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!! A lot of times the hair does NOT grow back ....I am dealing with this now...My left brow will not grow back fully due to waxing myself..LOL not cool! It only cost around $8 to get them waxed prof....so worth it... Almost ALLLL nail salons have waxing...I get them done when I get my nails done....CHeap and they do a great job...Would it be better to wax my eyebrows myself at home or get it done at a salon?
You can probably do it at home just make sure you know what you are doing. To find where everything should be i recommend this video: http://www.youtube.com/user/kandeejohnson?blend=1%26amp;ob=4#p/search/0/JuGejNahDa0. You could also try threading....
go to a nail place and they will do it for 5 - 10 dolloers jst be very spacific on wht u wont i get them done all the time there and my eye brows are wht i like

the hair needs to be 1/4'; long to get waxed. otherwise, the wax won't have enough hair to grab a hold of.
You need about 1/4 of an inch growth for the wax to effectively attach to the hair.

No, I'm too old for brazilian waxes.

Where can I find a salon that will put dreads in my hair, w/o wax, in or around Cincinnati?

I am trying to find a salon to put dreads in my hair using the crochet hook method in the Cincinnati area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Experience with Caucasian textured hair would be a bonus.Where can I find a salon that will put dreads in my hair, w/o wax, in or around Cincinnati?
Youd have better luck in an ethnic salon...

  • Do you keep your pants on when having a bikini wax at a salon??

What pants do you wear?? Does it depend on what type of bikini wax you are having done?? What does the waxer actually see???!!!!Do you keep your pants on when having a bikini wax at a salon??
depends what wax you having! if its just bikini the yes you can, you can pull your undies over as much as you want and they or you put cover paper around the edging of your undies, i would recomend getting it done, you dont get that spike, that comes back after shaveing! and lasts for 4-6 weeks! well worth it.Do you keep your pants on when having a bikini wax at a salon??
Depends on what you want. If you just want the sides done they give you some throw away panties, if you're going bare and getting it all off they gotta see it to wax it.
You can possibly keep you pants on if ur just doing the edges but it will get messy, some salons have disposable thongs so that the clients feel more comfortable
IF ITS JUST A BIKINI WAS NOT ANYTHING ELSE WELL U LEAVEYOUR PANTS ON THEY R VERY DISCREET ANYWAY NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE HANING
The beauticians I go to supply disposable panties.
I've only had this done once so I am no expert but I got given some ';hospital knickers';, those disposable ones - and then I had to pull them to one side.

However although the hair was gone I bruised really really badly - looked like I had bad lovebites all over my thigh - so she had to stop.......had to wear shorts for my whole holiday and buy a swimsuit with legs!
    i wanna know this too???
it depends, wear a thong but usually they give u a paper one.dnt worry tho they are well used to seeing EVERYTHING and im sure will tell u if u need to remove anything or turn a certain way.dnt be nervous-it hurts mre!!x
you can choose too i guess.. but generally go get all the hair, you take your pants off.
How would they do it if you had your pants on?

You bare all, they see all. (Y)

They've seen it all before so don't worry about it.
um depends really if its a brazillian you usually have to bare all but if its just a bikini usually you get a desposable pair of undies which i hitch up.
I keep my Knickers on in the Salon i go to, she just puts Tissues over them.
You're naked from the waist down. The salon should provide a pair of ';underwear';. The waxer will see everything.

If I went to a nail salon and asked for my eyebrows to be waxed, would they do it ?

I wanted to know if they could make them femme with an arch, like a girl. And will this be real noticeable ? And for how long ? My gf likes to put makeup on me, and she says, it would make the eyeshadow look alot nicerIf I went to a nail salon and asked for my eyebrows to be waxed, would they do it ?
yeah that's where most people get their eyebrows done anywayIf I went to a nail salon and asked for my eyebrows to be waxed, would they do it ?
OK, why are you letting your girlfriend put make up on you? Lol I know my boyfriend would shoot me if I did that to him, haha. But in regards to your question. Some nail places will do eyebrow waxing.

My nail salon I go to does all kinds of waxing, so it just depends on the salon, or the nail place. Just call ahead and ask, then ask for prices.

I pay about $12 where I go, but they do a great job!

Good luck with the make up.

not a nail salon. go to a hair salon with a spa. there's a good chance the esthecian waxes.
she puts make-up on you? okay..well.. nailshops do it --thats where i go to get mine done. they will arch them as well.. however, i just specify that i want mine cleaned up and evened some.
yes they would wax your eyebrows or you . it usually cost me like 10 bucks to get my done and they last for like three weeks, but i like mine really thin so i go more frequently.
Yes it will be noticeable and people will wonder if you are gay or a cross-dresser.
yeah they would if u ask them..most salons do ur eyebrows in an arch anways.. it would cost about 6 dollars. i also wouldnt think it would be noticeable..ur just a quy who cares how they look!
    yeah, why not!

in fact u can go 2 a hair salon and get it done

are you a lesbian or a gay man??

Have you had a brazialian wax at a salon?

    how much was it?

and if you live in london caould you tell me where you went?Have you had a brazialian wax at a salon?
I go to a salon called 'The Beauty Parlour', which is right outside Purley station (Purley as in just down the road from Croydon, south London). They will wax as much or as little as you like, including the anal region if that's what floats your boat. I think a brazilian is 拢20, the an extra 拢5 if you want the other bit done. I really recommend them, they're excellent.Have you had a brazialian wax at a salon?
yeah, it's about 拢20 normally, I've been to acouple of places, go somewhere where the person doing it is a bit older, I went to one where the girls doing it was about 19 (no offense but she was a very young 19) and I could hear her laughing with her mates outside the door and generally being childish about the whole thing - it's embarrassing enough with out that sort of unprofessionalism!!
Why don't you wax your own minge.
I went in for a Brazilian and came out with a Chilly un!!!
I had a bikini wax not a Brazilian and it went well- i paid $35.00 with tip, but i live in Florida so i cant tell you where to go in London.
Yes i have, i went to a place in south west london called Enigma and it cost me 拢28
no but some people have brain waxes
You can do them your self these days, a lot cheaper. Why not do that?
    Yes

I go to a place in NW London called Lemoge. It costs about 拢14, which is really cheap for a full on brazilian!
At LA Beauty in Edgware, they charge 拢12 for a Brazilian and 拢16 for a Hollywood (Call 8952 5382). I go for body waxes there and would recommend them completely. They're down-to-earth, professional and friendly. The salon is within LA Fitness in Edgware but despite the name, they're a small independent company and have no commercial connection with the gym chain - they only rent space in the building.

(I learnt this chatting to the owner and please note any moderators out there, I have no commercial connection with either company - in fact I gave up LA Fitness membership because of their lousy service and the place was too crowded.)
hi, if you like i will put round in my lunch time with some cold wax strips and get to work. Never done it before, but what a laugh it would be. Cost would be cold wax strips and a cup of coffee.
HELL NO!!! Just having one pube pulled out by a sanitary towel is agony enough, thank you!

But to have a load of hair ripped out of my minge...at one time..and pay for it?? Are you crazy!

Nah mate, give me a Gillette razor and Im happy!
I have but it was in Manchester and it cost me 拢26.50 and it nearly took my plums off.

    Well i didn't know ,did i.!!!!

Can anyone suggest a good salon in boise, id to get my eyebrows waxed?

I have very stupid eyebrows they have like no arch and it takes a real professional to coax an arch out of them. So far everyone i've been to have made my eyebrows look really bad when they waxed them, i have yet to find someone who actually KNOWS how to shape eyebrows.

have an suggestions on salons i could go to?Can anyone suggest a good salon in boise, id to get my eyebrows waxed?
Get 'em threaded, not waxed. Can anyone suggest a good salon in boise, id to get my eyebrows waxed?
I am not sure about boise but there is a place in caldwell called features and they do alot of that sort of thing.

Eyebrox waxing question. I just went to a salon to get my brows waxed and now, 24 hours later, I have odd mark

I went to a Salon yesterday to get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed. My lip turned out great. BuT below my eyebrows, I have purple marks. Looks kind of like hickeys. I have it above both eyes, and below eye brow hairs. When the lady waxed them, she said my skin was very red. It wasn't super comfortable, but it didn't hurt at all, I talked the entire time she did it.

She asked if the wax was too hot, I said no.

I didn't go tanning and I don't wear any odd facial creams and I'm not on any meds or anything. I have had my eyebrows waxed before by other salons, but never had these funny marks.

What are these marks? How did they get there (what caused it)??? How do I get rid of them..I have a formal dance this saturday.

I had people ask me at school today if I got in a fight, and I said no but didn't wan't to tell people I had them waxed.Eyebrox waxing question. I just went to a salon to get my brows waxed and now, 24 hours later, I have odd mark
I've had my skin peel off when waxing my eyebrows. I've waxed two times(in two different places) and the outcome were both bad.

The lady who waxed them might have been right. The wax might have been hot for you, though you may have not felt it. You're eyebrows may be sensitive for waxing. Try threading.

For your situation, you can apply tea tree oil on the area. Or you can try Jamieson Vitamin e oil. You can find it in your local drug store.

Hopefully this helps you.Eyebrox waxing question. I just went to a salon to get my brows waxed and now, 24 hours later, I have odd mark
That sounds very strange. If you're on your period, your skin can be more sensitive than normal.

My guess is that the wax was just a little too hot. I would get some soothing moisturizer, (like cetaphil- has aloe vera/other similar ingredients to soothe burns.)

Maybe try to ice the marks as well. They could be puffy?

If the marks don't go away, you always can try foundation, too.

    Good luck. ^^
    Well,

I don't know what could have caused it.

But I would go back to another salon.

The waxer could have not exactly known what she was doing,

or even though you said it wasnt too hot, it could have been.

    theres tons of possibilities.

I hope it's fine for your dance!
keep it moisturized! I recommend vaseline, or something with the texture of chap stick. If you keep it hydrated, you can cover it with foundation for your dance without it looking dry, uneven, or obvious. Wax was either too hot, or you needed baby powder to prevent the wax from lifting your skin.
if its purple its means theres blood underneathe your skin meaning she must of broken sum capillaries and bruised you a bit if she pulled the strip in the wrong direction and too hard especially if its this certain wax that makes the strip really stick so its hard to get it off, and if before she pulled it she put too much pressure on it then pulled it off with a yank its easier to break your capillaries (smallest blood vessels their are many around your eyes) so its most likely some bruising itll go away in a couple of days
ethe wax could have been too hot and thats why she asked you that she sounds like she could have been new at it...but like neosporin on it...it helps burns...and two this happend to me once..my skin ripped off with the hair...i was on this medication called retina micro and it caused my skin to dry out so the hot wax just caused my skin to rip off too...

How many ladies actually wax their bikini area? Do you do it at home or get it done at a salon?

How much does it cost and what exactly do they do?How many ladies actually wax their bikini area? Do you do it at home or get it done at a salon?
I think the majority of ladies in NAmerica wax or do something with their bikini area. I personally wouldn't recommend waxing at home, unless you have a huge tolerance for self inflicted pain. True that it's more private, and you can cry and whine like a baby all you want, no one's gonna know, but for really great results, I'd go to a professional, and get them to do it. They can do a better job, reach places you can't even see, and get all the hair out faster, and actually with a little less pain. Make sure they are trained properly though, cause if not, you might as well do it at home. Expect to pay between $30 and $50 for a session, depending on where you go. And, as was already mentioned, the hair should be about 1/2'; in length for the wax to work properly. They'll trim it if it's a little too long.

When you get it done professionally, they'll most likely use a hot wax, which can be fairly warm. Using a spatula, they'll spread it on the area (that was the part I found most painful), and using strips of cloth, rip out the hair by it's roots, thus eliminating the hair from that area, for about 1-1.5 weeks. As you get it done more and more, less hair will grow back, and what does come in will be finer. Theoretically, after years of consistantly doing it, the hair should cease to grow, or at least grow in so little that you only have to treat the area once or twice a year. But I don't do it religously, so I can't say if that's true or not. But it does seem to be coming in finer.

So there you go, that's my experience with it. Overall, I'd say go to a salon, pay them, and get it done professionally. How many ladies actually wax their bikini area? Do you do it at home or get it done at a salon?
what do you wax your bikini for
Salon. If you do it at home it may effect the out come. The salon people have the sterilized tools and are more experienced. If you do it your self you may find your self half way ripping off hair because it hurts trust me I know. So pay that extra $15 to have done professionally and know that every thing is ok.
    Done in a salon for $25 -35.
    i do it at home.
oh man, it hurt me so bad that ill never do it again...i had it done at a salon for $35...it made me realize how much i love my hair lol
I buy the waxing supplies at the drug store they are very effective
I use a razor and sensitive skin moisturizing cream....and a brand new blade everytime!!
    salon for about 拢16.00
Do it at home, nair has a great product just for that and its less embarrising. $6 is all I paid.
Ladies, hair in these delicate areas are there for a reason. To protect. What's with all this waxing of the bikini area?
    I shave my bikini area.
I have waxed my bikini line myself %26amp; had it done at a salon. Depending on where you live %26amp; the general cost of living will decide how much it will cost to have it done at a salon. But no big deal you can always call %26amp; ask the price before you make an appointment. I continue to do it at home now because it is less expensive %26amp; I can do it at my own convenience. I use a product which heats the wax %26amp; the roller attached to the container rolls the right amount of wax on the skin. Then you press the provided paper on the wax, hold the skin taut, %26amp; quickly rip the paper off the waxed area. Yes, it stings. There are ointments or lotions provided which you put on to relieve the sting. I wouldn't recommend going out in a bikini the same day you waxed because your skin may be red especially the first time you do it. Try it at home (if you want) about three days before you are going to be parading in a cute little two piece. Good Luck.
Salon and it very nice paperr panties and they can even do the brazilian for you mine is around 45 to 85 every 2 to 3 weeks
    70% AT HOME %26amp; 30% AT SALON
